Ta Adesa means “tell stories” in the Ghanaian language, Ga (pronounced ɡã). We are a small, female-led literary magazine based in Ghana.
From experience, we understand the frustrations of not having enough avenues for publishing opportunities and the nurturing of creative writing talent, especially in Ghana. We seek to bridge that gap, and to create a space for creative engagement with literature, foster a community of readers and writers who support one another, and celebrate the power of the written word.
Our mission is to provide a platform for (emerging) writers to get published, promote and make more visible the literary arts in Ghana and beyond.
Founded in February 2022, Ta Adesa currently publishes only poetry and literary fiction, but may expand genres in future.
We are currently open to submissions seeking old, new, fresh, and vibrant voices looking to tell that story that has been sitting restless within them. We accept works from writers of any nationality, but encourage Ghanaians to submit.
