Poetry on the catharsis of love

I tell them she has a walk that can make an
atheist believe in God long enough to say God damn!”
Rudy Francisco

I shy at love poems but if I wanted to write one

I’ll start from her smile. How the blush of her

cheeks expand and my heart melts.

How perfection trembles at her gait.

I’ll start from her brows.

brown retina, glorious.

hips, illuminating.

laughter, like elixir.

I’ll start from the first day I held her hands.

Body electrified.

Shock waves coursing through veins. Instant miracle.

Her voice, angelic essence.

Intonation, breathtaking crescendo.

Beauty that strikes me dead and brings me to life –

I wonder how mirrors feel when she stares at them.

I’m not much of a love poet, but when you meet her,

don’t give God his flowers, give him the garden.
